Carbolic Soap Company is proud to be part of the Columbus Washboard Company Family. Our company began in England many moons ago, and we are now based in the picturesque area of Hocking Hills, Ohio. We started our company as we were finding it more and more difficult to obtain the basic products we knew and trusted. It got us thinking what other products that used to be commonplace have disappeared, and we figured that if we wanted to see them available then so might other folks! So, we started by making traditional soaps we could no longer get, then by customer request worked with original manufacturers as a supplier of their products, and evolved into the company we are today. Our direct relationship with suppliers means if we are out of stock of a product we can have your order shipped from the manufacturer to ensure you receive as quick a delivery as possible. No-one likes waiting for a package to arrive, and neither do we! Why call yourself Carbolic Soap Company? Well, Carbolic Soap was one of the first commercially available soaps in the world. It was used everywhere from hospitals to schools to homes. It has a very distinctive smell, and to many people, it reminds them of their childhood, and happy family memories. This sums up what our company is about and what we are trying to achieve, good memories, the simple things in life that make you smile and feel good in an ever evolving world. These products are not just curios to leave around the house, they are just as relevant today as they have always been. A product that has heritage, looks distinctive, is tried and trusted and makes you feel good by simply owning it is priceless, and is a great talking point. We also supply authentically made products like Washboards direct from the Columbus Washboard Factory in downtown Logan, Ohio (where we are also based), Fostoria glassware (which is sadly no longer made) Our range also includes an exquisite range of soaps from the US, and abroad. Firm family favorites are side by side with soaps with the best quality ingredients and wonderful fragrances. If you are not a fan of Sodium Laureth Sulfate then please talk to us, we have many soaps such as the English Triple Milled (long lasting) range we're sure you will love! New to our range is Anchor Butter. This, in our opinion is a gourmet butter made from fresh milk. It is free range, from grass fed cows. You have to taste it to believe it!
